I had a great afternoon with Marcel and Leilani. We were supposed to do this shoot on Saturday morning, but the weather forecast wasn’t looking so good so we did a quick rescheduling.
I arrived at Santana about 45 minutes early to scope out the place, as I usually do, and was pleasantly surprised to find Marcel and Leilani already on site.
Leilani and Marcel met and got engaged on Santana Row, so it was only fitting that we document their engagement at the same strip of shops.
You guys rock. I had an awesome time shooting you. You guys are pros.

We all couldn’t have asked for better weather, on an October day.
This bunch has to be the most down to earth bunch of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of spending eight hours with. They were so easy to work with that, all the group pictures…including the one of ALL of them…were done in under 15 minutes. The couple shots with Anne and Brian? Emma timed it down to 30 minutes for 2 locations, including a 5 minute trek up and down the beach carrying 20 pounds of equipment and a 5 minute drive to the reception.
Side note: Emma is a stickler about keeping the bride and groom on time so they can enjoy their guests.
I also managed to practice my powers of hypnotism, as their friends were so agreeable with everything that I asked of them.
Even Emma had powers of hypnotism, as she asked these two guys to joust with two very large poles.

Emma here for the post-wedding commentary. Usually, Alfred would be doing this, but Ella and I have locked him in his office until he comes out with all of Katy and Nolan’s edited pictures. He sometimes gets water and a slice of bread—but only on good days. 
Nolan and Katy met over a bag of Oreos. How cute is that? Their wedding was just as adorable and romantic as their first meeting, and their first date—swinging on swings.
Not a dry eye to be seen.

Hi Emma,
Alfred and you are just great to work with and really fun and comfortable!!! Already we have our favorites just from the teasers you’ve shown us. I can’t wait to see the entire gallery and in an album. I can’t believe you both made us look really good and your guidance to our poses really helped us to know what to do. Otherwise, we’ll just be hugging each other in all our pictuers.. hehehe! I like how you captured some of our candid and un-posed shots and it turned out awesome! I’m really glad we had this opportunity to dress in our wedding outfit and try for our pictures again. After the wedding, I felt bad that we were putting our wedding outfits to rest…
I really want to thank you for everything!!! We’re so happy with what we saw so far and it was good to work with you both. Thank you again and I think you guys will be successful because of the warmth and ease of working with you, not to mention the dual talent behind the lenses.
I will forever remember this because of the beautiful pictures you and Alfred took of us. We really enjoyed our day and will definitely recommend you both to future couples and events. Thank you so much.. and can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures.

Cherryl and Nasser had an amazing wedding. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to be their day-of photographer.
Apparently, things were running late on her big day, so she wasn’t able to get all the desired solo shots, couple shots, and entourage shots (primarily with her girls). We’re glad we were able to step in for her.
