Al, Ella, and I visited Baker Beach to test out some things for engagement sessions and various other projects. When we arrived, I thought to myself that this beach, although packed for a would-be winter day, it didn’t seem to have a lot of children roaming about. Well, I figured out why…as I was 1/2 a mile into our leisurely stroll.
Two very handsome, but also very naked, young men jogged by us. To which Ella asked, “they take a shower now?”
Oh my. No one told me this was a nude beach!!
At least we got in some good photos before we left.

One of the highlights of my day is actually a stolen highlight from wifey Emma. One of her B clients blogged:
“I want to thank Emma Salom for helping me realize that sexy doesn’t always come in a size 2… (in reference to B pics and album) turned out sooooo awesomely awesome.“
For which one of my brides responded:
“Ya know those Saloms don’t do any less than awesomely awesome…heehee”
Made me one proud hubby and photographer.
A lot of people ask about the whole husband/wife photography team situation and whether it really works. I think it does. My point of view is so different from hers. It’s also why a lot of my 2nd shooters are females, I really appreciate their input. During the post-wedding editing, I love to take a look at my shots and Emma or Shine’s shots and I’m in awe with how we each have a very different perspective. I think it makes for rounded wedding coverage and I’m glad I can offer it to my couples.
Oh….I hope I’m not too late for Happy Bokeh Wednesday! (One of my favorite off-season photo things to do!)

Tips for Running a Wedding Photography Business:
1. Be prepared to hit the ground running.

2. After 10-12 hours on your feet, a glass of wine can be your best friend.

3. When recruiting assistants and second shooters. Recruit them young. That way, they don’t know any better:

4. Helping others create perfect memories makes everything worth it. Ten times over.
