Editing Wedding Pictures

I get asked in consultations whether we post-process (aka edit) our photos. You betcha! We don’t show you anything straight-out-of-the-camera…we always edit our photos to give it that extra oomph. I could show you 2000+ unedited images, and ask you to envision what they would look like edited, but (unless you’re the Mentalist—one of my TiVoed shows) what’s the fun in that?

Although we throw in stylized photos here and there, we do like to keep the majority of our photos true-to-form, which means they should still look like a photo. This doesn’t mean I’m not tempted, every now and then, to shadow my double chin or cut my thighs in half. Al says I should stop doing that. :)

Full Time in ‘09

Many of my clients know that I have a day job, and that I work at that day job from Sun-Wed. My job has been one of the reasons I’ve had such a casual love affair with photography and have been able to slowly dip one toe in at a time into my new mistress…Wedding Photography. The timing, thus far, has been perfect.

But, alas, the recession hit the Salom household and I’ll be saying goodbye to the day job and hello to taking on Wedding Photography…gasp…drum roll… FULL TIME.

It’s scary. It’s unsure. It makes me nauseous thinking about it, but also so very excited! Not only will I be pursuing my love full time, I’ll also be able to spend more time with my rockin’ girls, one of which has been declared by her nursery school teachers as FULLY POTTY TRAINED. (Dancing…more dancing…)

So, to friends, family, past clients, future clients, and current clients…please send me your positive vibes! I’m surely going to need them.
