On our way to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving, we stopped by the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. What a wonderful treasure! It was utterly picture perfect. It is definitely the Urban Outfitters of hotels. In fact, it was so picture perfect that Al and I are doing a 2-part post. One from his camera and the other from mine.
The following set was taken by yours truly (Emma). I got up early to roam the grounds and so I could enjoy a bike ride around the town.
I am crossing my fingers that we’ll get to cover a wedding here some day!

I have the hi-res files. Should I still buy prints from you?
We always recommend that anything larger than a 4×6 be ordered through us….especially if you plan on framing them or putting them in your album.
Our monitors are calibrated such that what we see on our screen is what is printed through our professional printers. We also edit print orders further to give them that extra oomph for print. Here’s a sample of the transition from SOOC (straight out of the camera), to the proof (and hi-res file), to what is done for prints:

Nick and Mylien’s wedding was a great way to kick off the fall season. With beautiful, warm tones and awesome people!
The reception was absolutely hopping, with surprise breakdancing performances and “get up and dance” music. I found myself bopping along to the music several times.
p.s. This is a very long blog post!

I recently had the pleasure to both assist and second shoot for the amazing Mr. Ed Pingol. I am always stoked to learn and work with the best. Besides, as a wedding photographer, you should never stop learning. Photography is such a moving craft, that if you stand still for too long…you get lost in the chaos. Will be posting the wedding I second shot for him in the coming weeks.
We’ll be attending the PPGBA Meeting where Mr. Ed Pingol will host a chat about his awesome lighting techniques.
I’m bringing Emma along so that she can learn to master the art of holding that light stick. I’m sure you can feel her enthusiasm. hehe.
So, if you’re swinging by…please seek us out. We’d love to meet you!
