WPPI Las Vegas 2010

We’re back from the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) tradeshow and convention in Las Vegas, where we diligently researched new trends, networked with other professionals, and–oh— got our party on.

My Girls

We just finished our last wedding for the year, and what a great year it was.

Thanks to all the families and couples who allowed us to share time with them. You rock!

2010 is looking like a great year. So great that Emma has informed me that we’re merely a few weddings away from not having to take the job my mother in law lined up, just in case the “photography thing” didn’t work out. :)

  • Thanks to my wife who definitely turned the “photography thing” into a “photography career” and whose passion for this business has helped launch us into year 3.
  • Thanks to our daughter who is ever so patient with us. Despite the blur of busy that seems to envelope our home at most times, she keeps on truckin’ with a smile and a gentle laugh.
  • Thanks to our team of associates, assistants, and our studio manager–Belle. Without you, this venture would not be the same.
  • And, finally, thanks to my dear Xbox. You’ve seen me through some tough times.

Here’s a snapshot of my two most favorite people in the world. (Let’s not mention the fact that Ella’s shirt is on backwards. True Salom.)

Ace Part II

Here’s part II of our stay at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. I don’t have as many pictures as Emma, party because I drove the whole way there  (Emma tried driving for around an hour, but freaked everyone out in the care as she shrieked everytime a big rig got close to her).  So I was asleep for most of our stay, but it is indeed a very unique place to stay.

Ace Hotel Palm Springs

On our way to my sister’s house for Thanksgiving,  we stopped by the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.  What a wonderful treasure! It was utterly picture perfect. It is definitely the Urban Outfitters of hotels.  In fact, it was so picture perfect that Al and I are doing a 2-part post. One from his camera and the other from mine.

The following set was taken by yours truly (Emma).  I got up early to roam the grounds and so I could enjoy a bike ride around the town.

I am crossing my fingers that we’ll get to cover a wedding here some day!

Just a Friday Afternoon

The clients we met that night for a consult had no idea what we were doing just 20 minutes before.

Beauty about having an open field, great light, and ample supply of camera gear.
